The IP routing of time-sensitive signals is a challenge and requires specific technologies, such as the well-established Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS). However, with the advent of cloud services, the paradigm is shifting, and newcomer technologies are appearing, such as the Software-defined WAN (SD-WAN). This questions the role of legacy services and the interest in making both the new and the old co-exist.
