Highly Efficient 5G NB-IoT Cellular Connectivity

Gemalto's Cinterion® ENS22 NB-IoT Wireless Module platform boosts highly efficient future 5G connectivity for the IoT. The ENS22 IoT module combines single mode NB-IoT connectivity with extreme power efficiency, extended coverage range and advanced security features providing steadfast reliability for data only solutions. The module offers built-in internet services, protected by an enhanced security concept. Delivering data speeds of 27 Kbit/s downlink and 63 Kbit/s uplink, the ENS22 module is ideal for stationary IoT applications that send data only at intermittent intervals such as metering and smart city applications. 

Advanced integrated security ensures trust in NB-IoT

An optionally integrated eSIM in select product variants reduces the size and cost of IoT solutions while it facilitates device authentication, data encryption, and secure service provisioning. Pre-installed certificates simplify secure onboarding to cloud services by authenticating leading cloud platform providers.​​

Incremental FOTA extends device lifespan

Incremental firmware updates over-the-air (FOTA) allow revision of only the portion of code that needs updating. This significantly reduces transmission time, power draw and throughput, which are all essential in extending device lifespan and preserving the investment in NB-IoT technology.

Advanced power management for long battery life

Gemalto’s advanced power management system combined with ultra-efficient 5G capabilities significantly boost energy efficiency extending battery life for 10-15 years. 

Multi design flexibility for easy evolution

Providing integration ease and a reliable migration path, the ENS22 module shares the same LGA footprint as other Cinterion Industrial family modules allowing easy migration and a single PCB design for 2G, 3G, Cat 1, Cat 4 and 5G solutions.
